Career and Employment Guidance Centre (CEOP) was established under the Secretariat of State for Vocational Training and Employment Self Employment Promotion (SEFOPE) in Timor-Leste to provide training opportunities and employment support services for Timorese Women and Men. The project is sponsored by the Dutch government and aims to facilitate access to formal work opportunities across Jordan for Syrian refugees. STORYLINE: The Secretary-General of Jordan's Labour Ministry, Hani Khlefat cuts a ribbon to officialy open Jordan's newest job centre. The UN refugee agency and International Labour Organisation (ILO) set up the centre in Azraq refugee camp, offering formal work permits for the 36,000 Syrian refugees living in Jordan's second biggest camp. The Next-Steps Employment Centre at Mississauga Meadowvale hosted its first Open House on November 9, 2016. The centre moved to this location only a few months ago, offering free employment and recruitment services aimed at having a positive impact in the community, and supporting job seekers and employers in the area. The event provided an opportunity to meet the Next-Steps staff, network, and learn about the services offered.
